Shanghai, January 9, (Gasgoo.com)--C-NCAP, China's official crash test organization, released the crash test results for the last batch of cars being tested in late 2007 yesterday. Among the six car models being tested, Honda CR-V earns a five-star-plus rating with 50.6 points, the highest rating ever awarded by C-NCAP.

The Honda CR-V in the crash test is produced by Honda's local joint venture Dongfeng Honda. In the full frontal impact test at 50km/h, CR-V scored 15.55 points, and it got 16 points in the 40% frontal offset crash test and side crash test respectively. Further, it was given a bonus 3-point (maximum 5) for the safety belt reminders, side airbag and air-cushion.

The company started local production of CR-Vs since 2004 and the updated model was launched last April. The hot-selling sport utility vehicle was named as "2008 SUV of the Year China" by a Chinese auto magazine called Motor Trend.
