Shanghai. February 21 (Gasgoo.com) – German auto parts maker Bosch has broken ground for a modern distribution center in Changsha, the capital city of China’s southern province of Hunan, local newspaper said.

With an area of 10,000 square meters, the 4.3 million Euros facilities will be used to a distribution center for auto parts shipped to or out of the Bosch plant in Changsha. It will enormously enhance the company’s distribution capability in central China regions.

Built in 2005, the Changsha plant has become Bosch’s major production base for electronic driving systems, starters and alternators.

Last year, Bosch Group, the world's leading supplier of auto parts, announced to double its investment in China, injecting 620 million euros by 2008.

Since the beginning of the 2006, the auto parts giant has invested 160 million euros in building two plants in Changsha, in central China's Hunan Province and Suzhou, in eastern Jiangsu Province.

Bosch will increase its sales in the Asia-Pacific region to 25 percent of its global sales within eight years, a senior company official said.

China and India are two of Bosch's fastest growing markets, with China currently accounting for 15 percent of its Asia-Pacific sales and 2.5 percent of global sales.

China's auto parts industry is expected to be worth 800 billion yuan (100 billion U.S. dollars) in 2010, making the country the world's largest destination of foreign investment in the sector.
