Shanghai, April 29 (Gasgoo.com) VW CEO Martin Winterkorn said in a recent interview that china is Volkswagen's most important market outside Germany, and the automaker will bring its latest automobile technologies to China to strengthen its leading position in the fast-growing (auto) market.

Volkswagen had two world premieres at the 2008 Beijing Auto Show that ended yesterday. The first is the Lavida sedan, which is the first model developed entirely by Shanghai VW, its joint venture with China's Shanghai Auto and another is the new Bora, developed by its joint venture with FAW.

"Both models were tailored to the demands of Chinese customers, and we will price the two models competitively in the A-segment market,” Winterkorn said.

A separate report said that VW's newly launched Lavida has received hundreds of orders just days after its global debut in Beijing, signaling its great sales potential in future sedan market.
