Ford Motor Company has announced that it will donate an additional 1.7 million yuan ($244,000) towards the ongoing earthquake relief efforts in China, bringing its total donations to nearly 7 million yuan. The additional funds include 1.3 million yuan donated by employees of Ford Motor China, its joint-venture partners in China, and the Company's global workforce, plus a match of 400,000 yuan in funds by the Ford Fund's Global Giving that were contributed via www.globalgiving.com/ford.

The additional donation will complement the 5 million yuan in cash and vehicles already donated from Ford Motor Company and its joint venture and investment companies in China. This included seven Ford Transit ambulances donated by Ford China and delivered to the China Red Cross in Chengdu on May 18, which have been actively contributing to relief efforts in seven of the most-affected counties, including Mianyang and Deyang.

Ford Motor employees in China are also engaged in ongoing internal collections of food and clothing to help victims of the Wenchuan earthquake. Cash donated through the Ford Global Giving and Ford Fund are being dedicated to three projects, including 'Half the Sky Children's Earthquake Relief Fund', the 'American Red Cross China Earthquake Relief Fund', and 'Aid and Assistance to Sichuan Earthquake Survivors'.
