Beijing Benz launches 1m units’ vehicles into market

On the rolling-off ceremony, Beijing Benz was officially honored as the “The Globally Excellent Operating Plant in 2016”, which is the first Chinese auto company winning such an honor. Zhang Boxu, Director of Beijing Economic and Information Commission, said that,” As the representative of Beijing high-end manufacturing industry, Beijing Benz is growing fast in recent years, with enlarging capacity and increasing competitive power. It is becoming leader Beijing Auto industry and a good example of domestic luxury vehicle market.”

The rolling off of the 1,000,000th domestic Benz embodies Beijing Benz’s careful layout for platform and series developments. It only took ten years for Beijing Benz to become Daimler’s only joint-venture company that owns platforms for front wheel drive vehicles, rear wheel drive vehicles and dynamic systems at the same time.

Since 2014, Beijing Benz has achieved synchronous production of new models with Daimler Global Factory, and began the history of producing two models with different wheelbases in Daimler system simultaneously. Currently, the Beijing Benz products include two-wheelbase E-class vehicles, C-class vehicles, GLC, GLA SUV models, covering middle-and-high-end cars, middle-size SUV and compact SUVs.

Beijing Benz’s market performance is also excellent. Just on the first half of year, Beijing Benz has a total wholesales volume of 143,398 units, ranking second on the domestic high-end joint venture brands. “China has become Mercedes-Benz’s largest market, the sales volume of which in China increases nearly 30%. In the future, we will increase investments in China with BAIC Group.” One director from Daimler said.
