Dongfeng Renault Technology Center Completed on September 21, Accelerating localization

Shanghai, September 20, Gasgoo - Dongfeng Renault has two domestic models currently, Kadjar and Koleos. Test track in Dongfeng Renault Wuhan factory Technology Center will be officially put into use on September 21, 2017, marking the completion of phase one of Dongfeng Renault Technology Cente. Earlier, Dongfeng Renault car project has been approved, and the completion of the new R & D center will accelerate the process of car’s localization.

Dongfeng Renault Technology Center was formally established in 2013, responsible for research and development of Dongfeng Renault products. After three years of development, test track of Dongfeng Renault Wuhan factory Technology Center will be officially put into use on September 21. With the improvement of research and development capabilities, the center will further enhance Dongfeng Renault’s product R&D capabilities and accelerate the process of localization.

Dongfeng Renault will expand the product layout to meet the needs of Chinese consumers. Chenxi, vice president of Dongfeng Renault and manager of Sales, said that Dongfeng Renault will have the corresponding products to meet different market needs, and that in 2019 the first domestic car will enter the market. The completion of the R & D center will shorten the products’ test cycle.

Dongfeng Renault will also accelerate its product layout in the market of new energy. According to previous plans, Renault will use the same chassis as Nissan’s. Pure electric model "KWID", a small SUV, will be launched in China and will be put into production in Wuhan factory before 2019. By then, Renault will compete with Honda and other brands in the field of new energy vehicles.
