Chery’s first seven-seater SUV exposed with novel interior design, 1.5T engine

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chery will release a middle-size SUV coded T18 in the first half of 2018, which will offer a five-seat and seven-seat variants. According to the exposed photos, the T18 features a different design style from Chery's former SUVs. With an enlarged intake grille and adjustments on center console of interior, the model boasts a high recognition.

Adopting Chery's design language dubbed life in motion, the model features an intake grille, which is divided into two parts by two silver chrome trims. Especially, the upper part features a large honeycomb shape, which connects with the headlights on both sides. With a C-shaped layout around fog lights mated with a silver fender, the model delivers strengthened visual impact. In addition, the new model features a slim body, panoramic sunroof and luggage rack.

In terms of interior, the new model offers a three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel and an electronic brake. Compared with the exposed spy shots, the T18 features a novel and exquisite interior with a more protruded multimedia screen.

Expected to be powered by the same 1.5L turbocharged engine with the 2018 Tiggo 7, paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, the T18 will deliver a maximum power output of 108kW and a peak torque of 210Nm. In the future, the new model is expected to come fitted with Chery's third-gen 1.6T high-power turbocharged engine.
