Shouqi-backed GoFun takes lead to apply autonomous driving tech in mobility area

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On April 27, GoFun, a car-sharing platform backed by state-owned Shouqi Group, showed off several autonomous driving technologies, such as autonomous pick-up and drop-off, automatic parking, vehicle formation and dispatch, at a conference in Beijing. Reportedly, GoFun will become China’s first car-sharing platform that uses autonomous driving and the Auto Parking technologies.

The Beijing-based autonomous driving startup IdriverPlus and Shouqi Zhixing, which is controlled by Shou Qi Group, officially reached a cooperative intention earlier this year, according to local media. Both parties will extend deep collaboration in autonomous driving technologies, autonomous car sharing commercialized applications as well as car-sharing operation.

Currently, GoFun has developed the autonomous pick-up and drop-off technology. The company is expected to accomplish the on-line operation of autonomous vehicle and automatic parking businesses. Meanwhile, the platform will open to some resource-oriented enterprises such as property and real estate companies to gradually enlarge the application of autonomous driving technologies and car-sharing services. 

Apart from the progress GoFun made in mobility service and autonomous driving area, Shouqi Limousine & Chauffeur and FAW Group recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement to carry out mobility deployment, saying that both parties will integrate their advantageous resources to help Hongqi brand deploy in mobility service sector.
