Changan Auto April NEV sales skyrocket 101.67% year on year

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd (Changan Auto) delivered 186,670 units in April, rising 15.33% from a year ago, while slumping 30.62% over the previous month. For the first four months, the automaker suffered a year-on-year sales downturn of 15.55% to 845,018 units, according to the data the company released on May 9.

Compared with the March, the deliveries of the CS55 plunged 36.75% to 12,756 units in April. Driven by the upgraded version, the sales of the CS75 reached 10,292 units, up 7.83% year on year. Besides, 11,025 units of the CS35 were handed over in April.

As to sedan models, the company delivered 9,663 units of the EADO last month. The second-generation EADO XT was unveiled at Auto China 2018. In addition, the deliveries of the Ruicheng CC showed a month-on-month increase to 3,726 units.

In April, Changan Ford suffered a year-on-year slump of 21.98% to 37,800 units. For the first four months, the company delivered a total of 168,251 units, sharply declining 32.46% year on year. The Sino-Japanese joint venture Changan Mazda sported a year-on-year sales jump of 29.83% with 16,236 units delivered in April. Its cumulative sales so far this year were 62,335 units, edging up 2.68% compared with year-ago period. Moreover, Jiangling Motors April sales reached 28,264 units, slightly growing 1.24% year on year, while plunging 26.52% from a month ago. Its year-to-date sales showed a violent year-on-year decrease of 16.81% to 104,720 units.

Changan Auto delivered 5,671 NEVs (new energy vehicle) last month, skyrocketing 101.67% from a year ago. By the end of April, its NEV deliveries this year has reached 15,216 units, soaring 60.95% compared with the same period in 2017. The company showcased 5 NEV models at Auto China 2018, including the CS75 PHEV, the all-new EADO PHEV, the Benben EV and the CS15 EV.
