NIO ES6 presale starts on December 1 with price starting at RMB370,000

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- One year after the NIO ES8's unveiling, the Chinese EV startup will launch its second volume production model—the ES6 at the NIO Day 2018 held on December 15. The ES6's presale has already started from December 1, according to NIO's official press release.

Compared with the NIO ES8 which is priced between RMB448,000 and RMB548,000 before the subsidy incentive is given, the presale price for the ES6 will start at approximately RMB370,000.

As a high-performance long-range electric SUV which seats five passengers, the ES6, is built on a wheelbase measuring 2,900 mm. The entire model series comes standard with an all-aluminum body and dual-motor intelligent electric all-wheel drive, while boasting an acceleration of 0-100 km/h within less than 5 seconds, said NIO.

Priority pre-orders for the ES6 will be only accessible by invitation from ES8 owners.

It is reported that the startup began to debug the ES6 assembly lines in China's National Day and plans to handed over the vehicles in June next year.

The NIO ES6 is to target the Tesla Model 3, said Li Bin, Chairman and CEO of NIO. Relevant data shows that in the third quarter, Tesla substantially ramped up the capacity of the Model 3 and delivered a total of 56,065 Model 3s in the U.S., a tremendous month-on-month growth of 203.8%. As the original planning, the Model 3 will be handed over in China from March or April next year.

The 10,000th NIO ES8 officially rolled off the production line on November 27. By the end of October, the EV company has delivered a total of 4,941 ES8s in 170 Chinese cities.
