BAIC Group, China Post ally on ecosystem of Mobility-as-a-Service

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- BAIC Group signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with China Post, a Chinese state-owned postal business operator, to make joint efforts to develop an ecosystem of Mobility-as-a-Service (MaaS) in the future.

A wide range of fields will be involved in the latest cooperation, including market expansion, complete vehicle acquisition, automobile operation, auto-related financial service, postal logistics, joint construction of a service system, customer care, supporting services for goods delivery.

To be specific, BAIC Group will offer China Post the vehicles for a variety of usages, such as official business, production and employee’s personal use.

Besides, they are going to co-develop financial businesses in a total of 11 sectors including wholesale, settlement & cash management, industrial funds, personal automobile consumption load, personal financial services, factory-installed automobile ETC (electronic toll collection), investment bank business, car dealer financing, employees' welfare guarantee, securities investment & financing and capital operation.

The partnership with China Post will energize BAIC Group in branding, the enhancement of products, technologies and services and the building of an all-round MaaS ecosystem, said Xu Heyi, chairman of BAIC Group.

Furthermore, BAIC Group and China Post intend to cooperate in the auto-related supply chain, manufacturing area and sales system by integrating the partnerships with logistics service providers.  

Both parties will also team up on the construction of a NEV service network and a BAIC Motor-themed post office.
