GAC Group posts YoY, MoM two-digit growth in June 2022 sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- GAC Group, one of the major Chinese automobile groups, scored a double-digit growth in June sales compared to both the previous year and the previous month.

The Guangzhou-based auto group announced on Tuesday it sold 234,394 new vehicles last month, representing a year-on-year leap of 41.16%, while also reflecting a month-on-month growth of 28.04%.

In terms of June sales, GAC Toyota still outsold other subsidiaries and obtained a two-digit year-over-year growth. The Sino-Japanese joint venture, GAC Mitsubishi, posted a 62.38% slump over a year earlier, while GAC FCA's sales dropped to zero in June.

For the first half of this year, GAC Group saw its cumulative sales rise 12.02% year on year to 1,149,926 units. Except for GAC Honda, GAC FCA, and GAC Mitsubishi, the group's other subsidiaries all gained a year-on-year increase in their year-to-date sales.

Notably, GAC AION was the fastest-growing one regarding both June sales and Jan.-Jun. sales.

GAC Group said its year-to-date new energy vehicle ("NEV") sales reached 113,335 units (+119.86% YoY), 26,740 units of which were sold last month to reflect a 172.58% year-on-year hike.

At the GAC TECH DAY held on June 28, GAC Group launched a slew of its latest technologies and technical products, including the Psi Operating System, the improved ADiGO Ecosystem, and the new-generation super iron lithium battery built on microcrystalline technology (SmLFP). Meanwhile, it also unveiled the hydrogen-powered MPV concept car SPACE.
