Imported Passat CC to go on sale next Feb

Shanghai, August 6 (Gasgoo.com) Volkswagen AG's new Passat CC will go on sale as imported cars in China as of February 2009, local newspaper Guangzhou Daily reported.

The newspaper says dealers have already begun to accept orders at the southern Chinese province of Guangdong. The model will be sold for 498,000 yuan ($72,648) to 529,800 yuan at dealersships.

The Passat CC to be on sale will be powered by a 3.6L V6 FSI engine that produces a peak power of 220kW/6700rpm and its max torque is now 170 Nm/4200 rpm.

It has come out on the Volkswagen PQ46 platform, just like Magotan, another China-made VW model. It is the first four-door coupe product under the brand of Volkswagen.

It combines the design of coupe and the comfort of car, and that is why it has been named as CC (Coupe + Car), as explained the Volkswagen website.
