According to the company, Apollo 7.0 realized milestone evolution from code to tool, open-source platform to tool platform. Building on the four open-source platforms, including cloud service, open-source software, hardware development, and vehicle authentication, Apollo 7.0 offers a series of upgrades, such as the one-stop practice cloud platform Apollo Studio, leading simulation service, highly efficient new models.
The Apollo Studio is generated from the popular “data pipeline” service in Apollo 6.0 version, covering the entire cloud toolchain for developers. Apollo 7.0 offers an industry-first PnC reinforcement learning model training and simulation evaluation platform.
Up to now, Baidu’s Apollo autonomous driving platform has completed eleven versions of iteration, attracting over 80,000 developers across 135 countries globally. The platform has accumulated over 210 partners, with a total of 700,000 lines of open-source code, becoming one of the most active open autonomous driving platforms worldwide.
The Apollo 7.0 enriches Baidu’s auto robot connection technologies and scenario abilities. Baidu’s auto robots can be seen in numerous fields, including passenger transport, freight, life services, ports and mines.
Notably, Baidu’s Deepway autonomous driving heavy-duty truck fleet is expected to expand to 1,000 vehicles in 2023.
