Dongfeng Motor deploys 49 intelligent connected buses in Xiongan New Area

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On December 26, Dongfeng Motor’s autonomous driving arm, Dongfeng Sharing, officially delivered 49 intelligent connected buses to Xiongan New Area.

The laste move means that Xiongan’s first intelligent connected bus fleet has been put into operation. Compared with traditional buses, Dongfeng Sharing’s intelligent connected bus fully integrates new-generation automotive technologies, including V2X, spatial perception, cloud computing, and others. The vehicles provide a dynamic information service system for Xiongan’s public transportation, optimizing the allocation and scheduling of buses and providing passengers with an improved experience.

In addition to the intelligent connected buses, Dongfeng Motor is also actively promoting the testing, research, and application of driverless buses in Xiongan New Area, in a bid to reinforce the Area’s smart public transportation system. 

Currently, the driverless buses provided by Dongfeng Motor have been implemented onto Xiongan New Area’s bus routes, undergoing basic functions and performance tests open to the public. The vehicles are tested for future commercial operation. 

Under the premise of safety, the highly-autonomous L4 buses are enabled with C-V2X, vehicle-to-vehicle coordination, and vehicle-to-human coordination capabilities, and can self-operate on designated routes.
