Baidu Apollo, Chongqing Vocational College of Intelligent Engineering co-establish autonomous driving technology education base

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On August 22, Baidu Apollo, in collaboration with Chongqing Vocational College of Intelligent Engineering, inaugurated the "Baidu Apollo Autonomous Driving Technology Education Base for the Western China Region".

The inauguration marked the official launch of the first Baidu autonomous driving robot car smart control enclosed testing and training facility in the country.

As the demonstration base for autonomous driving technology education in the western China region, this venue will leverage a variety of networks to establish interconnectivity among testing elements such as vehicles, facilities, and testing equipment. This capability will enable real-time control and centralized scheduling of all testing elements within the enclosed testing field. The venue will utilize an integrated testing, scheduling, and management platform to automate control over testing equipment. By combining vehicle-in-loop (VIL) virtual-real combined testing technology and flexible scenario design, the goal is to achieve connected, integrated, automated, and scenario-based testing and training.

Furthermore, this training facility will serve as an incubator for fostering intelligent and connected vehicle concepts. It will provide comprehensive and hands-on training content on fully intelligent and applied autonomous driving technology, enabling students to engage closely with driving and application techniques of intelligent vehicles without leaving the premises. This initiative will cultivate talent and intellectual support for the intelligent autonomous driving technology application field, while also serving as a professional training ground for Baidu Apollo's autonomous driving endeavors.
