Lynk & Co 05 PHEV’s patent images leak
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Earlier this month, the PHEV versions of the Lynk & Co 02 and 03 hit the market at the 2019 Chengdu Motor Show, enriching the PHEV lineup of the car brand jointly owned by China's Geely and Sweden's Volvo.
Before long, the patent images of the Lynk & Co 05 were exposed by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Just one look at the exterior design and its lineage with the fuel-burning Lynk & Co 05 is rapidly evident. For instance, the waterfall-like headlights and the unmistakable grille are also adopted by the gasoline version. Under the grille is a large-sized air-breather, which makes the front face look more aggressive.
Basically, the 05 is a "coupe" version of the 01 crossover, Lynk & Co's first production model that's been on sale since late 2017. Certainly, the PHEV version also retains the “couple” design. Besides, the vehicle's sports essence is further accentuated by the intricate waistline design.
At the rear end, taillights are embedded with a cluster of horizontally-installed LED lamps rather than vertically-installed crystal lamps for other models. A silver trim stretches across a black panel and taillights, the same as the combustion-engine version. The new PHEV also packs an exhaust layout with a single pipe on each side. However, the “05 PHEV” lettering still reveals its NEV identity.
The new model measures 4,592mm long, 1,879mm wide and 1,628mm tall with a wheelbase spanning 2,734mm.
The new car's powertrain combines a 132kW 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with a plug-in hybrid system for a combined fuel consumption of 1.3 litres per 100 kilometers (photo source: MIIT).
