NIO's second brand named 'ONVO', set for launch in May 2024
NIO, a prominent electric vehicle maker in China, has named its second brand "乐道" ("Le Dao") in Chinese and "ONVO" in English, confirmed by NIO's chairman Li Bin and co-founder Qin Lihong on March 14.
"The brand name was leaked, not officially released," Qin Lihong told local media outlets. The new brand is set to officially be launched in May.
NIO revamps Battery-as-a-Service with lower prices, new incentives
On March 14, NIO unveiled significant updates to its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering, marking a new chapter in its innovative approach to electric vehicle (EV) ownership.
The adjustments include a reduction in the monthly subscription fee for the standard-range battery pack from 980 yuan to 728 yuan, and for the long-range battery pack from 1,680 yuan to 1,128 yuan. In an appealing move for both existing and new customers, the rent paid can now partially offset the cost of eventually purchasing the battery outright. Moreover, for every payment cycle, customers are rewarded with a 100-yuan voucher, which can be used as a discount when buying a new vehicle.
