Leapmotor's flagship D19 SUV to make global debut on Oct. 16

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On Sept. 19, Chinese new energy vehicle maker Leapmotor announced that its flagship model, the D19, will make its global debut on Oct. 16. Positioned as a full-size SUV, the D19 is the largest and most upscale vehicle in Leapmotor's lineup and will serve as the brand's entry into the 300,000-yuan segment.

Official teaser posters revealed camouflaged images of the vehicle, showing a robust design with signature large alloy wheels, flush-mounted windows, and an overall premium presence. A roof-mounted LiDAR suggests the D19 will support advanced driver assistance functions.

Leapmotor executives emphasized that the production version will deliver higher-end features than early design predictions. The model is also expected to showcase industry-leading technologies rather than being a "budget alternative" to existing premium SUVs. The D19 has already entered summer testing, marking progress toward its market introduction.

Leapmotor founder Zhu Jiangming previously disclosed that the D-series would go into mass production in the first quarter of 2026, debuting the company's next-generation central domain controller equipped with dual Qualcomm 8797 chips. The flagship Snapdragon Automotive Platform integrates Oryon CPUs, Adreno GPUs, and Hexagon NPUs, enabling advanced multimodal AI functions for an enhanced driving experience.

The D19 will spearhead Leapmotor's product roadmap, which over the next three years will expand across A, B, C, and D series models, covering price points from 60,000 yuan to 300,000 yuan.
