The sales of medium-class sedans (100-200 thousands yuan) totaled 1,120,419 units in 2005, a 23.3% growth year on year. The number of medium-class reached 25 nos. after 7 new models were introduced into China market in 2005.

Medium-class sedan market features 2005:
1. It is the largest passenger car market segment. The market share of medium-class sedans saw a smooth rise since 2001, with an average sales growth of 30.5% year on year. The total number share in passenger market climbed from 38.4% in 2001 to 42.3% in 2004, although it dropped a little to 40.2% in 2005, still with a sales growth of 23.3%. The market with a collection of sales-winning models caught a lot of concern from OEMs and the trend making a strong influence on the sedan market. 

2. New models rushed to launch. 7 new models were introduced in to the high-class market. They are Nissan Tiida, Kia Cerato, Chevrolet Epica, Ford Focus, HF Saibao and Suzuki LIANA.

3. The sales of ever-green (Santana series and Jetta ) models slips and the new comer captured large market shares.
