China’s power battery installed capacity dips 0.3% YoY in Jan. 2023
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In Jan. 2023, China's power battery output reached 28.2GWh, shrinking 5% year on year, while tumbling 46.3% month on month, according to the China Automotive Power Battery Industry Innovation Alliance (CAPBIIA).
Of the power batteries produced last month, 9.8GWh and 18.3GWh were ternary-lithium batteries and lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, down 9.3% and 2.5% from the year-ago period, respectively.
Data by the CAPBIIA show that the country's power battery installed capacity amounted to 16.1GWh in Jan., edging down 0.3% from the previous year, while also plunging 55.4% from the previous month.
To be specific, the installed capacity of ternary-lithium batteries and LFP batteries reached 5.4GWh and 10.7GWh last month, sliding 25.6% and 20.4%, respectively, compared to the year-ago period.
Moreover, there were 7.9GWh made-in-China power batteries exported to overseas markets in Jan., 67.7% of which were ternary-lithium batteries.
