Once operational, the facility is expected to boost the company's market share in new materials, create local jobs, and drive industrial upgrades. The new plant will feature automated production lines, lifting efficiency by over 20%. Between 2027 and 2028, the company plans to roll out a comprehensive lean production system designed to systematically improve quality, cut costs, and expand capacity.
Zhang Yunfu, chairman of Leiyu Grinding Materials (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., cited Dianshan Lake's strategic location, robust industrial supply chain, and responsive government services as key factors in the decision. The company aims to accelerate construction and ramp up R&D, targeting production launch by October.
A local official described the signing as a win for the town's efforts to optimize its business climate and attract targeted investment. The arrival of Leiyu New Materials will plug gaps in the local supply chain, pushing the industry toward higher-end, precision, and green manufacturing. Dianshan Lake has been building a "2+3+X" modern industrial layout, positioning itself within the "Shanghai-adjacent Industrial Sci-Tech Innovation Belt" and the "Southern Coordination Demonstration Zone." Through its "Dian Xiao Er" service brand, the town is offering end-to-end support to businesses developing the North Shore Industrial Innovation Zone.
