Upgraded Suzuki Grand Vitara to go on sale

Shanghai, August 25 (Gasgoo.com) Suzuki will start to sell its Grand Vitara models with upgraded 2.4L and 3.2L engines in China as of September 8, and in the meantime it will stop marketing the present 1.6L, 2.0L models, a Chengdu-based Suzuki dealer said.

The 2.7-litre V6 engine generates 185hp and 184lb-ft of torque while the 3.2L V6 puts out 230 horsepower and 213 pound-feet of torque.

The Grand Vitara also includes such features as all-wheel drive, power windows and locks, climate control air conditioning, four-wheel ABS, stability control (ESP) and six airbags.

It will compete directly with Toyota RAV4, Honda CR-V, Mitsubishi Outlander or Ford Escape in the Chinese market.
