ABB Norway has received an order from the Chinese car manufacturer BYD for a complete spray paint facility for BYD's new factory in Shenzen.

The order includes 13 robots of the type IRB 5400, including guidance systems. The robots will take care of all phases of the painting, from primer to top coat, the ABB press release says.

The painting robots were invented by ABB Norge at the end of the 60's, and the company is today the world's leading manufacturer of painting robots.

Recently the Bryne plant has delivered 11,111 robots. Customers are mostly car manufacturers and producers of electronics.
