Shanghai, September 10 (Gasgoo.com) Recently the promotional conference for China's automotive parts remanufacturing industry was held in Dongfeng Motor Corp's Xiangfan base, said xinhuanet.com today. This event marked the official launch of the nation's green program of auto-parts recycling and remanufacturing.

At the meeting, a senior official from Chinese Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) described the three stages of China's auto-parts remanufacturing program, as outlined in "the automotive products recycling technology and policy" issued by China's top economic regulator.

In the first stage starting this year, China's automakers and car dealers are required to register the recyclable vehicles made or sold by them, in preparation for the implementation of the auto-parts remanufacturing process.

In the second stage from 2010, about 90% of all domestically-made and imported vehicles should be recyclable, with at least 80% of their materials recyclable.

And in the third stage starting in 2017, about 95% of all China-made and imported vehicles should be recyclable, with at least 85% of their materials recyclable.
