Local brands get 24.77% of Jan-Aug sedan market

Shanghai, September 18 (Gasgoo.com) China sold a total of 835,500 local brand sedans from January through August, representing 24.77 percent of the sedan market, according to a report from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAC).

The top ten bestselling Chinese sedan brands were Chery QQ, FAW Xiali, BYD F3, Haima Family, Geely Freedom Ship, Brilliance Junjie, Geely King Kong, Chery A520, Chery Qiyun and FAW Weizhi. 

Sales of the above ten car brands were 556,300 units from January to August, about 67 percent of the total sales volume of Chinese brand sedans.

Last month's data shows a total of 249,500 homegrown brand cars were sold in the first seven months, which represents of 24.95 percent of the market. Sales of the top ten homegrown brand sedans were 505,600 units, accounting for 67 percent of own brand sedan sales.
