Shanghai, September 24 (Gasgoo.com) Changhe Suzuki Automobile, a Chinese joint venture of Suzuki Motor, is well prepared to introduce an all-new Suzuki series engine to equip Splash, Suzuki's fourth-generation global strategic model, which will be produced in Changhe Suzuki by 2010, Beijing Youth reported today, citing a source.

China-made models by Changhe Suzuki Automobile are mainly equipped with Suzuki K-series engines. Introduction of the new Suzuki engines may bring better products and technology into Changhe Auto as well as offer Changhe Suzuki more choices for making Suzuki models, the source said.

With its production line in Jiujiang, Jiangxi province, to be completed for operation next year, the Splash model will start production by 2010 with an annual capacity of at least 60,000 units. Splash is a small urban car, but it is superior to other small cars like QQ, Gwperi, and Benben in interior space, Changhe Auto said.

"A list of auto policies of 'limiting the large, supporting the small' stimulate development of small cars, Changhe Auto's director Li Yao told the reporter, "Changhe Auto aims to become a small car manufacturer by building 400,000 complete cars of all levels and produce 300,000 engines annually by 2012."
