China vehicle sales drop 15% in November

Shanghai, December 12 (Gasgoo.com) China's vehicle sales in November plunged 14.56 percent from a year earlier to 685,100 units, the China Association of Automobile (CAAM) announced Thursday.

The sales volume also marks a 4.26 pct month-on-month drop, the association said. Output for the month was 686,000 vehicles, down 18.14 pct year-on-year.

Passenger vehicle sales for the month fell 10.28 pct year-on-year to 522,800 units, while commercial vehicle sales fell 25.96 pct to 162,300 units, according to the CAAM.

In the first 11 months, vehicle sales totaled 8.63 mln, up 8.52 pct from a year earlier. Year-to-date growth fell into the single-digit range for the first time since July 2005, the CAAM added.

Sales of the top ten best-selling-vehicle makers, including SAIC, FAW, Dongfeng, ChangAn, BAIC, GAIG, Chery, Brilliance, Hafei and Geely, sold a total of 7.2 million automobiles, accounting for 83 pct of the total volume.
