China brands represent 25% of Jan-Nov car sales

Shanghai, December 17 (Gasgoo.com) China's homegrown automakers sold a total of 1.17 million cars from January through November this year, contributing 25.64 percent to the total car sales of the period, the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers said. 

The top 10 Chinese car models were BYD F3, QQ, Xiali, Familiar, Freedom Fleet, Junjie, Kingkong, Chery A520, Qiyun (Cowin) and Weizhi (Vizi). Sales of the ten brands were 766,600 units, accounting for 65 percent of the overall sales for own brand cars.

For the first eleven months of this year, the top ten sedan brands sold in Chinese market were Jetta, Santana, Excelle, Corolla, Accord, Camry, F3, QQ, Xiali and Elantra. Sales of the ten brands totaled 1.43 million units, which represents 31 percent of sedan sales.

Top ten carmakers in the period were FAW-Volkswagen Automotive, Shanghai Volkswagen Co, Shanghai General Motors Co, Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co, Dongfeng Motor Co, Chery Automobile Co, Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co, Beijing Hyundai Motor Co, Geely Automobile Holdings Ltd, and Changan Ford Mazda Automobile.

The ten automakers sold 2.98 million cars in the first eleven months, accounting for 65 percent of the total volume.
