Beijing Hyundai has new vice general manager

Shanghai, January 21 (Gasgoo.com) Beijing Hyundai Motor Co. had some change in its top management on Jan. 20, with Li Feng being named its standing vice general manager in charge of the joint venture's general operations, said sina.com today. His predecessor Li Honglu became a vice general manager of Beijing Auto Investment Co., Ltd.

Li Feng, born in 1963, graduated from Dalian University of Technology with a master's degree in automotive engineering. Previously he was director of Foton Motor's auto engineering center, general manager of Foton's sales company, and vice general manager of Beiqi Foton Motor, and then he moved to Chery Auto as its sales company's general manager and the automaker's vice general manager.

In October 2008, Li Feng returned to Beiqi (Beijing Auto) to become vice general manager of Beijing Auto Investment Co., Ltd. And three months later, he shifted his position with Li Honglu, a senior executive of Beijing Hyundai, who is nearing his retirement age.

With many years of experience in auto R&D, marketing and sales, and corporate management, Li Feng is seen as an innovative all-around talent. He has made great sales achievements both in Foton Motor and Chery Auto, and this seems to justify the expectation that he will lead Beijing Hyundai to faster sales growth.

Beijing Hyundai, a joint venture between South Korea's biggest carmaker and Beijing Automotive Industry Corp, was a growing passenger car maker in China, with sales in 2008 rising about 28% year on year to 294,517 units.

After launching the all-new Elantra in April 2008 as part of Hyundai's promise to release at least one new model in China each year, Beijing Hyundai will roll out the Hyundai i30 hatchback in the first half of 2009.
