Shanghai, January 22 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Honda Automobile Co., the joint venture between Chinese Dongfeng Motor Corporation and Japan-based Honda Motor Company, officially unveiled its first "Green Dealer" in southern China's Guangdong province on Jan.17, Information Times reported.

Honda's "Green Factory" concept, which takes into consideration both the natural environment outside the plant and work environment inside the plant, was applied to its expansion project in various areas.

Since Dongfeng Honda was established in June 2003, the carmaker has been making efforts to introduce the advanced technologies of safety, environment protection and fuel-efficiency, Dongfeng Honda's executive vice general manager Liu Yuhe told the reporters.

By the end of 2008, Dongfeng Honda owned 230 4S stores around China. The carmaker aimed to increase this number to 260 in 2009, reflecting a slow expansion.

"We'll focus on quality construction of the sales channel in the next step, and have 110 the "green dealers" by the end of this year," Liu said. All our authorized dealerships will pass the green registration (or environment protection approval) by 2010, he claimed.
