Ministry asking public view on auto sector policy

Shanghai, February 17 (Gasgoo.com) The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is seeking public opinions and advice on how to update and implement its five-year-old Automobile Industry Development Policy, the Beijing Times reported on Tuesday.

The current Automotive Industry Development Policy has been formulated in May 21, 2004 to explain China's WTO commitments, the development of China's economy and aims to turn the auto industry into one of China's pillar industries.

To accommodate the development trend of China's auto industry and international economic environment, the ministry has decided to collect advice and views from the general public on how to develop the auto industry.

The collection of public advice and suggestions on the auto industry policy will conclude on March 10, 2009, the ministry said.
