Shanghai, February 19 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese bus maker Xiamen King Long United Automotive Industry Co., will supply 406 buses to Senegal this year in an effort to renovate Senegal's public buses, an online report from Chinabus.com said today.

The deal is part of a $90 million loan granted by the Chinese government to the South Africa country during Chinese President Hu Jintao's recent visit to Senegal on February 13. The loan includes a grant of around $18 million, a loan of $49 million for national security and a second loan of $23 million to renovate the country's public transportation buses.

Under the deal, a total of 402 buses will be exported to Senegal in CKDs (complete knock-downs -- complete kits needed to assemble vehicles), and the other four units will be delivered as finished vehicles to serve as samples for the bus assembly at the local plants.

Xiamen King Long will also help Senegal build assembly plants and an after-sales network and send a team of 24 technicians and experts to the country to supervise the program.

Xiamen King Long is joint venture between Xiamen King Long Motor Co (51%), Xiamen State-owned Assets Investment Corp (24%) and Taiwan San Yang Industry Co (25%). It has an annual production capacity of more than 10,000 vehicles and its products are well known in the tourism and passenger transportation markets and exported to Africa, America and the Middle East and other parts of Asia.
