Shanghai, March 6 (Gasgoo.com) China's import and export value of automobile products continue to plunge in January, with both figures dropping by more than 20 percent from a year earlier, dada from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers showed Thursday.

The import value of automobiles fell 20.34 percent year on year to $1.73 billion in January, and the export value fell 33.45 percent to $2.66 billion.

On a monthly basis, the import value of automotive products was down 30.80 percent from December and the export value down 18.34 percent.

Industry analyst noted that shrinking demand at home and abroad will drive China's auto import and export further down as the impact from the financial crisis lingers.
