Chery April car sales up 30 percent on year

Shanghai, May 8 (Gasgoo.com) Chery Automobile Co said it sold 42,935 vehicles in April, up 30.5 percent from the same period last year.

Previously, the automaker sold more than 30,000 vehicles in each month of the first quarter. In January, the company hit a monthly record by selling 35,000 vehicles amid the market downturn, followed by 30,000 units in February and 35,000 units in March.

The company aims to sell 419,000 cars in 2009.
