BYD T6: do not just be copycat version of popular brand

A recent car photo claimed to have come from an official brochure of BYD Auto has caught broad attention because that car looks almost identical to Porsche Cayenne.

Rumor has it that the model, called T6, will be introduced in September 2010 with prices starting around $11,960. Power would come from a 2.0-liter engine.

Few weeks before, Geely Auto surprised attendees at the 2009 Shanghai auto show with the release of a Chinese GE concept, which bears a striking resemblance to a Rolls-Royce Phantom. But of course Geely insisted that it's an original.

And they are not the only Chinese firms that have created new cars in such a controversial manner.

Not as bad as some westerners believe, but do not overuse of the method, which means do not accept it as a inevitable development strategy, because it is always easier to ruin than build a brand.

But I am sure, in forty or fifty years, Chinese automakers are able to create something new with their own designs.
