Geely-built London cab TX4 goes on sale today
Shanghai, June 8 (Gasgoo.com) The Geely-built London cab, renamed the Shanghai Englon TX4, went on sale today in the Chinese market with a price tag of 208,000-228,000 yuan, xinhuanet.com reported.
The iconic taxi cab is up for sale to private, or taxi buyers from June 8. Under the hood the TX4 has the choice of either a gasoline with a manual gearbox, or a diesel with an automatic gearbox.
The 2.4L gasoline manual, 2.4L diesel manual and 2.5L diesel automatic versions are priced at 208,000 yuan, 218,000 yuan to 228,000 yuan respectively.
The TX4 appears is marketed more as a 'business vehicle' than a taxi in the Chinese market. The first TX4 to be sold in China was sold during the Shanghai Auto Show to a Chinese businessman.
The TX4 will be sold under the Geely Englon (meaning England-London) brand and is available nationwide as of today at selected Geely dealers.
The Shanghai Englon TX4 is made by Shanghai Maple Auto (to be renamed Shanghai Englon soon), a joint venture between Geely Group and Manganese Bronze Holdings.
