Shanghai GM reshuffles managers again
Shanghai, August 4 (Gasgoo.com) On Friday, Shanghai General Motors officially announced the third major reshuffle of its top management since April, mainly in the production and logistics sectors, xinhuanet.com reported.
Wang Yongqing, who was previously general manager of Shanghai GM Dong Yue Motors, has become deputy general manager and an executive committee member of Shanghai GM to take charge of the joint venture's manufacturing, logistics, quality control, among other duties.
Wang, a seasoned manager of auto & power-train production, has replaced Xun Yizhong, who was transferred to Shanghai Automotive Group Co. Ltd on Aug. 1.
Xun co-founded the Shanghai GM joint venture project in 1995. Two years later, he became deputy director of Shanghai GM's power-train plant, and then was promoted to deputy general manager of Shanghai GM. Xun was also a member of the executive committee responsible for building the venture's core business.
In 1995, Wang also worked in a department responsible for setting up cooperation projects for Shanghai GM. From 1997 to 2002, he acted as a senior manager in Shanghai GM's planning and development division and power-train plant. He was deputy director of Shanghai GM's Jinqiao southern plant from 2003 to 2005.
Shanghai GM has reshuffled some managers and directors in its key positions this year since April, when Jian Caibin replaced Sun Xiaodong as a new deputy general manager for marketing. And on July 1, Liu Yuehai, former vice president for Asia-Pacific marketing, took the seat of Su Ruibo as an executive deputy general manager of Shanghai GM.
