Shanghai, August 6 (Gasgoo.com) China's first production line of auto battery packs for new energy vehicles started to roll out products at Hunan Copower EV Battery Co., Ltd. yesterday, Shanghai Securities News reported. This means that new alternative power is now available to the country's new-energy vehicles.

Hunan Copower EV Battery was set up in August 2008 as a joint venture by Hunan Corun New Energy Co., Ltd. and GP Science Technology (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., with Corun as Hunan Copower's controlling shareholder.

Rather than only producing single batteries like other companies, Hunan Copower started up by developing, manufacturing and selling automotive battery modules, which feature elements of the world's cutting-edge technology of auto batteries.

Meanwhile, Hunan Copower has built China's first production line of auto battery packs for new energy vehicles, which is able to produce 18,000 sets of NIMH auto battery packs each year. The roll-out of the first auto battery pack yesterday marked the company's lead in the Chinese auto battery sector.

Hunan Corun chairman Zhong Faping said that in the coming five years, Copower will offer high-quality products and services to electric vehicle customers and endeavor to become one of the world's leading producers of auto battery packs as well a top green-energy company in China.
