First ZF rubber metal tech factory in China sets up in Shanghai

Shanghai, August 24 (Gasgoo.com) ZF Boge Elastmentall (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. , the first plant in China of the world's top three rubber metal parts giant, ZF, was founded in Shanghai Qingpu Industrial Park on August 21, 2009.

With an initial investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($219.6 million), the company will achieve an output of 10 million units in 2010. It will supply Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, FAW Volkswagen, Ford and other well-known automobile manufacturers with anti-vibration rubber metal products.

According to Dr. Yu, the General Manager of ZF Boge Elastmentall (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., compared with imports from other countries, the cost for domestic production of rubber metal damping products will be reduced by 20-30% in the future. Yu added that the setting up of the factory will improve ZF's competitiveness on rubber metal technology in the Chinese market.

In addition, the company also owns the first R&D center of Rubber Metal Technology of ZF in oversea market. The Research Center can communicate directly with the German headquarters and the domestic automotive manufacturers, which can help a lot in product development and quality control.
