Audi AG, a subsidiary of Volkswagen AG, aims to again lead the luxury car segment in China, the world's largest auto market, the China Daily reported.

This year, Audi hopes to sell 200,000 vehicles in China and expects China to surpass Germany as its biggest global market. It last year sold a record 157,188 vehicles in China, 33% more than in the previous year, thanks to overall industry growth in China.

The auto maker will bring new products to China this year and will establish 60 new dealerships in China in the next two years, bringing the total to 220.

The Audi Q5, which is produced in Changchun at the FAW Volkswagen joint venture, will begin selling soon, and is expected to help boost the auto maker's overall China sales this year as well as enrich the brand.

Audi currently has two joint plants in Changchun, the capital of Jilin Province. They have a combined output of 200,000 vehicles per year.
