Chery Tiggo sales break 200,000 units, with 70% sold

Shanghai, August 4 (Gasgoo.com) China's independent carmaker Chery Auto said yesterday that sales of its first SUV, Chery Tiggo, has broken 200,000 units, with 70% sold, since its launch in April's Beijing Auto Show, China Securities Journal Wednesday.

As the only export model, exempt from inspection when exports, Chery Tiggo has so far been successfully launched in more than 60 countries and regions. Chery Auto has established nine plants in seven countries in order to maintain the growth momentum internationally.

Chery Tiggo is well received by home users in Italy, now second in the sales rankings following only Nissan's SUV model.

Chery Auto put its self-developed Tiggo SUV to the Chinese market on March 22, 2005, since when its brand image has been greatly changed.
