Shanghai August 13 (Gasgoo.com) FAW-Mazda said recently that sales of its Mazda Rui Yi, known as the 2.0L Mazda 6, reached 12,705 vehicles in June this year, giving the joint venture a market share of 10.43% in the mid- and high-end car market in China.

Upon the launch of Mazda Rui Yi, the previous Mazda 6 has suddenly turned into an A-Class car, posting a strong growth in sales. In July, Mazda 6 and its 2.0L version Mazda Rui Yi sold 13,197 units in total, up nearly 70% from a year earlier.

FAW-Mazda has thus raised both its annual production and sales targets from the early 100,000 units to 150,000 units this year, while it is still not easy for the joint venture to achieve a growth rate of 50%.

At present, FAW-Mazda's average monthly sales have already broken through the 100,000 vehicle sales mark. The joint venture is now gearing to accomplish the goals with new model launches and expanded dealerships.

FAW-Mazda plans to expand its dealerships to more than 160 to boost its sales this year and release the MPV Mazda 8 in the second half.
