From Global Times| August 20 , 2010 11:34 BJT

The executive deputy president and concurrently secretary general of the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM), Dong Yang, said Sunday that the domestic car inventory maintains within a reasonable scope.

According to Dong, the auto market has developed more rationally compared with last year, which he said is serving as pillars to the development of the industry.

The country’s car output during the first six months of the year was of 9.7 million units (excluding exports) and end-sales reached 8.2 million units, data released by the China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) shows. If taken exports and unlicensed vehicles into account, the inventory would be around 1.1 million units.

In 2009, Shanghai Volkswagen, Shanghai GM, Beijing Hyundai and Dongfeng Nissan were the best selling brands of high-end cars.
