Volvo XC60 2.0T launched in China, priced from 390,000rmb and rising
China’s love of SUV shows no sign of abating over the past few months with compact SUV’s sales rise continuing. Volvo is keen to cash in on the recent love of compact high end SUV’s that has so far seen great action from BMW, Mercedes and Audi models. Volvo’s introduction of the XC2.0T is expected to liven up the market, as it is on par with the locally produced Audi Q5 2.0T whilst the XC60 is an imported model, as is the BMW and Mercedes, but the XC60′s pricing makes it very competitive.
The base model of the 2.0T will be priced at 398,000rmb, and a total of 4 models will be sold with the most expensive being priced at 498,000rmb. The XC60 is expected to be put into production into China in 2011 or 2012 under Geely’s stewardship.
