Ford China sales up 26% to 50,970 units in September
U.S. automaker Ford Motor Co announced yesterday its auto sales in China grew 26% year on year to 50,970 units in September this year.
In the third quarter of this year, the company sold 132,976 vehicles in China.
In the first three quarters of this year, the automaker's sales in the world's largest car market totaled 419,073 units, 40% more than in the same period of last year.
Changan Ford Mazda Automobile Ltd, a three-way joint venture among Changan Motors, Ford Motor and Mazda Motor, sold 286,113 vehicles in the first three quarter, 32% more than in the same period of last year.
Jiangling Motors Corp Ltd<000550>, Ford's commercial vehicle JV, saw its sales surge 61% year on year to 132,960 units in the first nine months.
Last month, Ford signed an agreement with the Chongqing Municipal Government to invest US$500 million to set up an engine plant in the city.
