BAIC sales up 20.6% to 1.1 mln units in Jan-Sep

BAIC Group's auto sales in the first three quarters this year grew by 20.6 percent or 1.1 million vehicles, reports caijing.com.cn.

BAIC’s auto production in the first three quarters increased 17.8 percent year-on-year or 1.09 million vehicles. In September alone, its sales grew 6.2 percent year-on-year and 16.52 percent month-on-month to 134,000 vehicles, in line with the seasonal sales bump for the auto market.

The Beijing carmaker’s sales during the National Day holiday period grew 18.5 percent year-on-year or 19,676 vehicles.

The firm changed its name to BAIC Group from Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Corporation on September 28.
