Brilliance BMW to participate in Auto Shanghai 2011

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 11) - BMW and its Chinese partner Brilliance Auto have announced their intent to participate in this month's Shanghai automobile exhibition–Auto Shanghai 2011–the Beijing News reported today. Among its highly anticipated offerings, two models in particular look set to steal the spotlight: the 5 Series plug-in hybrid and the 6 Series Coupé.

The 5 Series long wheelbase hybrid (pictured above) is testament to deeper cooperation between the BMW Group and its Chinese division. The car is a product of joint research and development between BMW and Brilliance Auto, and is expected to be produced at BMW Brilliance's second factory in 2013.

The new 6 Series Coupé (pictured below), which will also be making its debut at Shanghai, will be coming to the country this year, BMW Brilliance's Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing Dr. Daniel Kirchert confirmed.

In addition, BMW will be debuting a concept M5 sedan, as well as showcasing the Vision Connected Drive Concept shown at the Geneva Motor Show last month.
