Changan Ford Mazda recalls over 60000 Mondeo and S-Max vehicles in China
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 1) - Changan Ford Mazda has begun a recall of its Ford Mondeo midsizes and S-Max minivans today, China Business News reporting, quoting an announcement from the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine. The recall will target 58,949 Mondeos and 3,496 S-Max minivans in China manufactured between October 2007 and July 2009.
The models (pictured) in question suffer from a problem with the material in their ABS fluid pump motors, which may lead to the ABS system malfunctioning. In the case of a malfunction, a warning light on the dashboard will be turned on to notify the driver, though the vehicle's brake system will still be usable. Changan Ford Mazda will conduct free inspection and maintenance of all affected vehicles to ensure that the issue is resolved.
