Hyundai sells over 127000 vehicles in China in March

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 13) - Top ten 2011 automobile manufacturer Hyundai Motor Group saw its global sales grow 13 percent last month, totaling 623,116 vehicles, China Business Times reported today. 127,939 of those sales were made in China, a full 40 percent higher than last March's figure. The manufacturer sold a total of 309,001 vehicles in China in the first quarter of the year, also increasing 11 percent from 2011.

The manufacturer's two joint ventures in China, Beijing Hyundai and Dongfeng Yueda Kia, managed to sell 80,051 and 47,888 vehicles in March, respectively. Beijing Hyundai's Elantra Yuedong (pictured above) was the manufacturer's best selling model, with sales of 19,898 units posted. No other car in its segment managed to come close to its performance this month. The Accent Verna and eighth generation Sonata managed sales of 14,045 and 11,381 units, respectively. The ix35 SUV (pictured below) was another strongly performing model, with sales doubling from the previous month. A total of 14,133 ix35s were sold.

As for the Kia brand, the K2 and Forte maintained strong performances, with a total of 11,953 and 12,494 units sold, respectively. The Sportage-R SUV, meanwhile, managed sales of 6,618 units.
